Foxglove Cottage, situated on a quiet road in Opinan, 4 miles from the village of Laide, and 1 mile from the golden sands of Mellon Udrigle, is ideal for family holidays and as a centre for walking and climbing. The situation at the head of the peninsula between Loch Ewe and Gruinard Bay affords views of sea and islands, mountains and moorland. To the north are views of the Summer Isles and the mountains of Suilven, Quinag and Stac Polly. To the east is the impressive mountain range of An Teallach. For nature lovers there are seals, otters, occasionally pine-martens and a variety of birds of woodland edge, moorland and coast.

Wester Ross
 Wester-ross in the North-West Highlands of Scotland is an area of stunning natural beauty and wild-life. Nearby Gruinard Bay with its sandy beaches and river walks is the home of the sea-eagle. Inverewe Garden, 12 miles, is a National Trust treasure, worth a visit at any time of year. Gairloch, 20 miles, has good restaurants, museum, pony trekking, fishing trips and sea cruises. At Ullapool, 45 miles, there are craft shops, including the popular "Highland Stoneware", sea trips round the Summer Isles and the car ferry to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.


Foxglove cottage offers high quality self-catering accommodation. It has a large enclosed garden, private and secluded, with access to 10 acres of woodland. There are 3 bedrooms (1 on the ground floor) and can sleep up to 8 people. The lounge has a wood burning stove. The dining/kitchen area is well equipped with electric cooker, fridge and microwave. The Ground floor bathroom has a bath and separate shower cubicle. The first floor bathroom has an electric shower over the bath. Bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday.

Also off-season weekend breaks.

Prices Range from £250 to £560 per week.

For walkers and climbers information and advice is available on routes and conditions in the mountains already mentioned and also for the Torridon and Fisherfield areas.

PLEASE NOTE There are several ponds in the cottage garden.
If you have children, please be aware of this and ask for further information if required.The gardens are extensive and children would need to be supervised.
